The day had come when the most adorable mice couple was about to get married and embrace each other for eternity!

Mixie, the beautiful cheerful bride, and Maxie, the wise handsome groom, were about to walk down the aisle in a gathering attended by the entire animal fraternity.

But before the marriage could happen, the bride has suddenly gone missing!

Mixie is suddenly having second thoughts for the reasons best known to her. She immediately leaves the gathering and goes sit by the river!

Maxie has always known Mixie better than she ever knew herself. He goes to Mixie, gently holds her hand and comforts her. He did not ask any question nor was seeking any explanation. Moments later, when Mixie was comfortable enough to share, she herself said the following:

“Maxie, you are so wise and mature and handsome! I am always very childish. I don’t think I am good match for you. You deserve much better.

I am not the most beautiful doe in the forest, and there are always many pretty does all around you. With age, while your wisdom shall outshine everything, my beauty is only going to decrease to a point when you won’t love me anymore!

Maxie I am scared you will leave me in the future! And when that happens, I will not be able to bear the pain.”

There were tears rolling down her eyes, but Maxie did not rush to explain anything. Instead he hugged her, and both stayed stayed silent for a very long period. Afterwards, Maxie said the following which convinced Mixie that she has nothing to fear —

“Mixie, you know during my childhood, there was once a cheese dinner at home, and my mother had prepared all sorts of delicious cheese!

Guess what, I did not eat any of it but decided to make my own cheese! When I made my own cheese — it was not the tastiest, yet I loved it so much! I did not share it with anyone, nor did I crave even for any other cheese on the table, however delicious or appetizing it might appear!

Mixie, You are the cheese I have chosen myself!

When I had the entire forest to choose from, my heart identified you, and only you, as my soulmate. I don’t think I can now even look at anyone else after having looked at you!

Whether you remain beautiful or not, it is not relevant anymore. And whatever may happen, you shall always remain the doe that I identified as my soulmate!”

Mixie always had the softest corner for Maxie’s words, and both knew this pretty well. In that moment, all her doubts had vanished, and Mixie was yet again ready to submit herself completely to Maxie and to a lifetime of togetherness! Both stayed there for a while, and when Mixie’s tears had dried away, both walked back to the gathering.

When they were walking back to the gathering, Maxie said —

“By the way, who says your beauty is going to decrease with age! You are going to age gracefully like a wine!

And the entire male mouse fraternity will always be so desperate to flirt with you, just like they are now😄!”

The very wise Maxie knew how to flirt as well, and as always Mixie just could not resist smiling at this! Eventually, the adorable ‘M&M’ couple walked back to the gathering, and were pronounced as ‘husband and wife’!

Over a journey of lifetime, there can be no relationship without any differences or arguments!

And with time, often the differences overpower the love!

But in that moment of hatred when we just want to walk away, we must understand that when we had the entire world available to us, this one person was the one we connected to, and decided to spend the rest of our lives together. This one person was our soulmate!

With this one thought, it is worthwhile to make at least one extra effort to bring back the beautiful relationship that we once had! Maybe just that one extra effort only one more time!
