3 characteristics of “Hope” to always remain hopeful

I met someone called “Hope”, and life has been beautiful ever since!!!

I had a dream where I found myself sitting in the middle of a long tunnel — there was darkness everywhere. I did not know where I was, and which way I had to go — heartbroken, lost and directionless. I did not even want to get up from where I was sitting.

Suddenly, I saw a lady appearing from the end of the tunnel. She smiled at me, and told me there is a way out. She did not tell me which way it is, but I had to find it on my own. She told me to trust myself, and that the universe wants me to get out of here. Two more steps to go. One more step to go. I kept walking and she kept pushing me forward. For time being, I forgot I was going through the tunnel and was just following the radiant beautiful lady.

When I came out of the tunnel, I thanked her and asked her name — she smiled and told me her name is “Hope”.

We all have been there sometime — with our hardships resembling endless tunnels and we stuck in the middle of it. We did not know where we were, and where did we have to go. In such times, if there is anything that gets up going, it is Hope — a belief that motivates us to strive forward, a belief that promises a better tomorrow, and a belief that holds our hand through all the adversities.

I. Why is hope necessary? — Because it is the starting point of resurgence.

During our most difficult times, our up rise always starts with hope and a belief that we can do it. It provides us with the necessary motivation and optimism that makes our journey easier.

Remember, hope is more powerful than all our miseries combined. A little ray of hope can eliminate all the darkness of our miseries — and that is all we need sometimes.

II. Where to find hope? — Look for stories around you.

When looking for hope, just ask yourself these two questions:

“I. Are you the first one going through this problem?”

“II. Is this the biggest problem or grief that you see people around yourself?”

One would invariable find examples of hope and motivation in stories around us — people who have been through this situation and have emerged victorious. Such stories are sufficient to give us the belief that we can also overcome our difficulties.

Remember, hope will always emerge even in the darkest time. We just have to keep looking for it.

III. How to keep the hope alive? — Fuel it through your hard work and optimism

Once we see the slightest of hope amidst all our adversities, we must cling to it, and fuel it through our hard work and optimism. Use this to make progress. And once we see ourselves making progress, this shall provide us with further momentum to keep going.

“Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don’t give up.” — Anne Lamot

I hope that you enjoyed reading about “Hope”, and that this beautiful lady always keep showering her presence in your life, and keep guiding you through all the adversities.

P.S. I could be wrong to visualize “hope” as a woman, but isn’t everything beautiful in this world feminine — the rains, the smiles, the hopes. All gentle, kind and forever loving.
