When I asked God, “How Can I Carry My Money with me after death😢?”
God Himself came to my dream and I asked him this stupid question! (#6 of 10)
God always fulfils his promise. And as He promised, He came to my dream for a sixth time for me to ask yet another question.
It had been long since we last talked. Yet it was the familiar smile that greeted me. This encapsulates the underlying philosophy of believing in God. No matter how long you’ve been away, whenever you turn towards Him, He unfailingly accepts you with open arms.
Sensing my hesitation, He delicately inquired, as if His words were a gentle shower of flowers,
“My dear child, do you not have a question for me today?”
An innocent smile graced my face as I bowed before Him, and said the following:
“Dear God,
As humans, we spend our entire lives accumulating things, many of which we don’t need. Yet, our insatiable desire for wealth persists.
But what point is all my wealth, if I cannot carry it with me when I die!
Tell me a way, and tell me fast — How can I carry my wealth to Heaven when I die?”
I’ve posed seemingly stupid questions before, but this one is now the gold standard.
But for God, is there truly any such thing as a stupid question? Perhaps not, and He graciously responded:
“My dear child,
My dear child, I shall provide you with a solution. Consider this: when you are heading to Mexico later this year, won’t you need to convert your dollars? And when you journey to Vietnam next month, won’t you be converting your dollars to Vietnamese Dong?
In a similar manner, you must convert your dollars before you come to me.
The only currency that holds value here is your love and care for people.
Ensure that your dollars are duly converted into the service of mankind. Your virtuous deeds through your service to humanity shall accompany you even after your death.”
God always has a unique way of conveying His message, such that even a stupid monk like myself can comprehend it. His boundless love never fails to evoke tears in my eyes. I stood there, awestruck, and bowed before Him in gratitude.
Just as He was on the verge of departing, He turned around and said,
“My dear monk, ensure to complete the conversion before it is too late. Most people are never able to do that.”
I smiled, and stood there pondering over His words. From somewhere, I could hear the 4 o clock alarm clock ringing.
I smiled, contemplating His words, and from somewhere, the sound of my 4 o’clock alarm reached me.
I woke up, prepared myself a sweet cup of tea, and began writing this article — in hope that such articles shall go with me even after my death.
